Famous actor from blockbuster hits like Titanic, Aliens, Apollo 13 and the Terminator dies after complications from heart surgery.
“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” according to a statement released by his family.
“A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker.
“Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”
Bill Paxton’s first notable performance was from the movie the terminator in 1984 followed by his amazing roles in Weird Science, Aliens and Near Dark. He developed a close working relationship with director James Cameron, also starring in True Lies and Titanic. The actor starred in a number of other big hits in the 90s, including Twister, Apollo 13 and Tombstone. He was also known for his small screen work, winning three Golden Globe nominations for his role in HBO’s drama Big Love.
